Homework

This page will contain your children's weekly homework.

Homework is set via the century tech portal and is similar each week.

Please continue to read with your child on a daily basis and record this in the diary noting the book title and pages read. Also access the relevant quizzes on Accelerated Reader to achieve the expected 5 points by the end of each half term.

TT Rock Stars is availble for all children. It is an expectation that children access this at least once per week to support practice of their times tables, becoming efficient and accurate. This will also support their confidence and perfromance in the Year 4 times tables check which will be completed next year.

Spellings - children will study a different spelling 'rule' in class each week. They will also receive 6 words to learn separately. These are taken from the Y3/Y4 spellings and do not follow a 'rule' - they simply need to be learned. Children will be tested on these words each Friday.

Homework - Friday 13th September

Children will need to complete 6 'nuggets': 3 maths and 3 English. These will be available to access within your child's account. Please support your children with this and ensure that they do not race through the material. One English nugget each week will be Reading Comprehension based. The other 'nuggets' will normally link to material studied in class unless it is a 'diagnostic' unit where we can identify gaps in learning.

TT rockstars - please access at least once each week to practise times tables - a key skill as we move through Key Stage 2!

Please get in touch if you have technical difficulties or are unsure about anything. All access details/passwords are contined in your child's diary.

Spellings - each week 6 words are written in your child's reading diary. These words will need to be learnt for the following Friday. They are words taken from the common exception words for Year 3 and Year 4 which do not follow a spelling 'rule'. Each week in class, we will work on a spelling 'rule' separate from the words learnt at home.
